The south-west facing road or ‘Nyay Sarani’ of the Supreme Court (SC), which was closed due to security reasons, has reopened.
The decision to reopen the road was taken in a meeting held between Supreme Court Judges Committee, Attorney General, and Supreme Court Bar Association, said SC spokesperson Mohammad Saifur Rahman.“Starting from Tuesday, the one-way traffic road will remain open from 8am to 11pm to enter the SC premises, and from 4pm to 6:30pm to leave,” he said.
Vehicles bearing Supreme Court flag and valid stickers issued by the SC Bar Association, Attorney General’s office, vehicles of Supreme Court administration, Solicitor’s office and persons concerned with the SC having proper ID cards and their private and hired vehicles will be allowed to ply this road.
Besides, rickshaws, CNG and hired motorcycles will drop passengers at the roundabout between Old High Court building and bar parking and exit through the Mazar gate.
